As a university teacher with little prior exposure to the meetings and conventions industry, I joined the CICS course with a great deal of curiosity but few expectations. Over the past three days, I have learned far more than I anticipated—not only about bid presentations, team cohesion, and the importance of event catering, but also about the practical skills needed to respond to real-world Q&A in a competitive bidding environment. The course structure was highly practical, and the feedback from instructors was both relevant and actionable, providing me with valuable insights that I can apply in the future.

What stood out to me most was how much I gained from simply listening and interacting with others in the group. As a teacher, I am often in the position of delivering information, but this experience challenged me to step back, listen more, and engage in two-way communication. This has given me new inspiration for how to interact with my own students, turning classroom teaching into a more dynamic exchange of knowledge and ideas. I genuinely feel I have grown as an educator as a result.
